Harbors we serve on the Mississippi coast

Largest slip count on the coast: four city harbors with close to 500 slips (Point Cadet 246, Small Craft Harbor 124), the commercial shrimp and oyster fleet, and casino-side charter boats that turn seats over on a schedule.

Home base. The Gulfport Municipal Marina at Jones Park holds 319 slips, the Bert Jones Yacht Basin adds the sailing and cruising fleet, and the Ship Island ferry and port charters keep commercial seating in constant use.

Municipal Harbor with 201 slips in the middle of Old Town, a bay-boat and pontoon fleet on St. Louis Bay, and second-home owners from New Orleans who want the boat ready when they arrive.

East Harbor with 164 slips split between the commercial oyster fleet and recreational boats, plus the oldest yacht club on the coast, so sailboat canvas and working-boat seats both show up here.

Small Craft Harbor on Biloxi Bay plus Davis Bayou and the Gulf Islands National Seashore launch, a bay-boat and skiff fleet that fishes the marsh and takes constant spray.

Long Beach Harbor with 85 wet slips and a public ramp rated to 25 feet, a runabout and pontoon fleet with a higher share of trailered boats stored uncovered in driveways.

Back Bay of Biloxi town with the D'Iberville public marina and the Popp's Ferry corridor, a bass boat and bay boat fleet stored on lifts and trailers where covers are rare.

Shipbuilding town with the Pascagoula River fleet, Point Park and the eastern commercial docks, the biggest average boat size on the coast and the most commercial and crew-boat seating work.

Planned community on the Jourdan River and Rotten Bayou with covered private slips and a retiree pontoon fleet: less sun damage, more age-related foam and stitching failure on boats that get used gently for a long time.
