Boat upholstery on the Mississippi Gulf Coast costs $200 to $550 for a single seat or bench, $450 to $1,200 for a helm chair rebuild, and $2,000 to $6,000 for a full bowrider interior, with pontoon furniture sets running $2,500 to $7,000. The price is driven by three things: how many pieces need work, whether the foam underneath has taken on water, and the vinyl grade. Marine-grade vinyl with UV inhibitors, sewn with PTFE thread and laid over closed-cell foam, lasts seven to ten years on a boat that sits uncovered in a slip at Gulfport or Biloxi, and longer under a cover. Most jobs are quoted from photos the same day, patterned at the slip, and finished within two weeks for single seats or three to five weeks for a full interior. Winter work, from December through February, runs about ten percent less because the bench is open.

Materials that survive the Sound

The Gulf sun is the enemy of every seat on the coast. The EPA's UV index sits at very high or extreme most days from May through September here, and ultraviolet light breaks down the plasticizers that keep vinyl flexible. Add salt spray that dries into grit and humidity that keeps foam damp for months, and a cheap seat is done in two summers. So we are specific about materials.

  • Marine vinyl with UV inhibitors, a mildew-resistant backing and a cold-crack rating. Seven to ten years uncovered, more under a cover. Named by grade on your quote.
  • PTFE thread that carries a lifetime warranty against sun rot. Polyester thread is what fails on most three year old canvas, not the fabric.
  • Closed-cell foam on fishing boats and cockpit cushions so water drains instead of soaking in. Open-cell foam where a softer seat matters and the boat stays covered.
  • Sunbrella acrylic for biminis and covers that need to hold color for eight or more summers, marine polyester where budget matters more than years.

How projects run at your slip

  1. Step 1

    Text photos

Send pictures of the worn pieces to (228) 206-7732. You get a range off the published table the same day.

  2. Step 2

    Dock visit

We meet you at the slip, lift or driveway, squeeze test every cushion and pattern the pieces that need work.

  3. Step 3

    Pull and sew

Worn pieces come off the boat. New foam where it failed, marine vinyl cut to the pattern, PTFE thread throughout.

  4. Step 4

    Install

We come back and fit the finished pieces. Snaps, hinges and hardware go back on or get replaced.

  5. Step 5

    Sit in it, then pay

You check the fit and the seams on your own boat before the invoice closes.

Single seats and small canvas come back inside two weeks during the season. Full interiors run three to five weeks. Winter, December through February, is faster and about ten percent cheaper. Details on the dock service page.

Ballpark your job in ten seconds

Three questions, a real range. Every number comes from the same published table we quote from on the phone, so the range you see here is the range you hear later.

Your ballpark

$350 to $850

The vinyl grade decides the lifespan more than anything else. Marine vinyl with UV inhibitors and a mildew-resistant backing gets seven to ten years on the Sound. Automotive vinyl on an uncovered boat cracks by its second summer.

Harbors we serve

Every harbor from St. Louis Bay to the Pascagoula River, ranked by how many boats sit in the water there. Each page names the harbor, its slip count and what wears out first on the boats that live in it.

Charter captains and working boats

Harrison County alone documents close to 300 commercial fishing boats and about 70 passenger vessels with the Coast Guard, and most of them have wheelhouse seats and crew bunks that nobody re-covers until the foam is gone. We price commercial seats per unit, $350 to $900 each in commercial vinyl with welded seams, schedule around your trips and give fleet rates above four seats.

Questions Gulf Coast boat owners ask

How much does it cost to reupholster boat seats in Gulfport?
A single seat or bench runs $200 to $550, a helm chair rebuild $450 to $1,200, and a full bowrider interior $2,000 to $6,000. Pontoon furniture sets run $2,500 to $7,000. Every range is on the published price table and the quote you get matches it.
Do you come to my slip or do I have to bring the boat in?
Either. We pattern the worn pieces at your slip in any harbor from Bay St. Louis to Pascagoula, sew them at the shop in Gulfport, and come back to install. Trailer boats can also drop at the shop, which trims a little off the price.
How long do new boat seats last on the Gulf Coast?
Marine-grade vinyl with UV inhibitors gets seven to ten years on an uncovered boat on the Mississippi Sound, and longer under a mooring cover or in a covered slip. Automotive vinyl on the same boat cracks in about two summers, which is why we do not use it.
Can you replace just the foam if the vinyl is still good?
Yes, and we recommend it when the vinyl tests sound. Foam replacement runs $50 to $150 per cushion. Waterlogged open-cell foam is the most common cause of a mildew smell and a flat seat on the coast.
What is the turnaround on a seat re-cover?
Single seats and small canvas jobs usually come back inside two weeks during the season. Full interiors run three to five weeks depending on the queue. Winter, December through February, is faster and carries a lower rate.
Do you work on charter boats and commercial vessels?
Yes. Charter boats get marine vinyl with a scheduled turnaround so you do not miss trips. Commercial wheelhouse and crew seats get commercial-grade vinyl with welded seams, priced $350 to $900 each with fleet pricing above four seats.
